Contribute FeedbackPound Pence is a cozy British pub in the Financial District that offers typical pub favorites like fish and chips and burgers. The decor is stereotypically British, with dark wood and soccer memorabilia. While some customers found the food to be overpriced and disappointing, others were pleasantly surprised by the delicious meals and attentive service. Overall, Pound Pence is a good spot for lunch, business meetings, or friendly gatherings, with a club-like atmosphere and good value for money.
They have to pick up from the table and search the waitress at any time. even they had to track down to get a pen to sign the charge. even accused me of a soda refill $3.50) egoing back to this place.
I have had many a memorable meal here, so when friends were coming into town and staying near, I thought that this would be a great place. I had not been to Pound Pence in a number of years. While the ambiance was nice enough (although the music was a little loud when we first arrived , the food wasn't spectacular. The the tuna nicoise that I had was overcooked (not my requested medium rare, but, rather, medium and a little tough and overdressed. (Note to self: Ask for the dressing to be on the side. I did not ask about my friends' meals, although they didn't say anything about it either way.
I can always count on this restaurant to provide the old-world comfortable ambiance and the comfort food I love. I will definitely keep coming back.
Very loud, food wasn’t good and service was inconsistent. Not a place to have a conversation, louder than a club.
Seems like the server was single handedly handling the upper right level during an extremely busy lunch time. It took 25 minutes to get her attention to place our order. When the order came it was cold and the order was not correct. Horrible service and cold food.
