The included tip leaves staff unmotivated, leading to lackluster customer care and absurd prices. Some diners faced issues with running out of certain drinks, no cucumbers for drinks, and forgetfulness with serving meals. Despite these setbacks, Murals boasts a supreme ambiance, attentive staff, and excellent desserts. Randolph's, the hotel bar, is commended for its friendly atmosphere and great service. Overall, while there are some kinks to work out, both venues offer a pleasant experience for visitors.
Would not recommend it sadly. several reasons. a person in our party ordered a certain glass weeping and they didn't have it, but instead of telling us, they only brought something else but nothing said (and that was a wee who the person already knew and didn't want). the wee were room temperature and had to ask for a chilled glass white wine. the restaurant should serve Vietnamese diners, but it was the most blazing and tasteless pho we ever had. one of the dishes did not come until we had finished the half of the meal. Jazz music in the background was nice to dinner.
We had a wonderful breakfast with our family on Sunday morning. it was the perfect end for a great nyc waking with family and friends. the room is beautiful and the service and the eating were excellent. in any case one has to go back!
A very well-maintained and near empty, beautifully furnished dining room. cocktails are a cut above. beautiful starters easy to share. pho so. I initially added a 20% tip when I submitted the review only to see that the management had already included a 15% tip for my party of 3 without menu disclosure.
Diamond in rough. First off, the food was very good. Salad with shrimp, crispy duck appetizer (excellent), striped bass, shrimp risotto, all very good. Not really Vietnamese but rather Vietnamese inspired. Still good. Ambience is lovely with big murals and a soft jazz combo, guitar and singer (check which nights). As to the rest, and I mean this positively because I really liked the place. Everyone was SUPER NICE (most important thing, I guess) but they really didn't know the restaurant business. I hope they see this and perhaps bring in an experienced person or consultant. The menu selection was small WHICH IS FINE, better to do a few things well than a big selection of mediocrity, but they were out of a significant number of items and it was early Friday night. When you have 5 or six entree selections, you cant be out of one. Also not, a lot if hot chilis on items that didn't specify so on the menu. Really good though I liked it but my gf, not so much. They replaced on item cordially. Again, super friendly and nice but just didn't know common stuff. I had an aperitif and then asked for a glass of wine. Great. He asked me if I wanted it in the same glass. Very sweet, but just didn't know. I hope they get the message. It is a great looking place with a great location and excellent food and was almost empty on a Friday night. Inside a great hotel, I'm sure the rent cant be cheap and they wont make it without some changes and better marketing to bring people in.
Bao buns yummm. Service slow. Out of several items on the menu. But nice and quiet and the servers were lovely.
