What Hi Hi doesn't like about Moge Tee East Village:
Brown Sugar Boba had super hard tapioca pearls and tasted really odd, like sour rotten? The watermelon slush was gritty as if the artificial flavor packets they used was not mixed very well. Long wait times and overall restaurant was very grimy as another review noted. I’m sad that I wasted $20 here on two drinks we had to immediately throw out because we felt sick. Definitely go to the other boba places down the str... View all feedback.
The fresh fruit slushes were incredibly delicious, the cheese foam surpassed that of many other bubble tea shops, and the tea had the authentic taste of real brewed tea. Additionally, the milk genuinely tasted like milk and not like powdered alternatives. While it may be less creamy and sweet than other brands, I appreciate that it has a more natural and homemade flavor. The 30% sugar level was also refreshing; it wasn’t overly sweet, unlike many other brands where even 30% still tastes like 100%.
I really enjoyed the pineapple fresh fruit slush I ordered; it was excellent! The young woman who assisted me was extremely helpful and did a fantastic job. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely return to this location.
I had a small issue with my order, but they quickly fixed it and even threw in an extra item! The staff was super friendly, even though I was in a hurry after the concert. The quality of the tea is impressive. If you're in the area, this place is a must-visit! The atmosphere is very relaxing. Food: 5/5.
However, the cleanliness of the interior left much to be desired, so we opted to take our drinks to go, although there is seating available inside. I appreciated the array of fresh tea options, particularly as a refreshing choice on warmer days. One downside was that the fruit slices contained seeds, which meant that sometimes you would bite into squishy boba, while other times you would encounter a hard pit or seed. On a positive note, I liked that the cups feature a resealable lid instead of the flimsy plastic sheet that requires a straw to puncture. The large tea cost $6.25, with an additional 70 cents for boba, bringing the total to $7.80 after tax.
"The best bubble tea! The Fresh Mango Tea (Slush) is incredibly refreshing and my go-to option, aside from the Taro Bubble Milk, which I love as well. I always add crème brûlée and the white tapioca pearls for extra flavor. I absolutely love Moge Tea!"
