I went to this bar and saved several times from outside my neighborhood while I bought groceries in a supermarket. They make good cocktail drinks and serve good food from their menu. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lion's Head Tavern:
It's sweet, but just overpriced. The food is the best part tho somehow we got 20 wings with fries, a 10pc wing and 2 drinks and it ended like $80 dollars, which is just on Sunday for football simply egregious. Go to Yankees. View all feedback.
Great atmosphere. Loud Motown. Fun, vibrant crowd. Yogi is a very welcoming bartender. Lion 's Head is right by Columbia U campus. I never came here as an undergrad, but I love it now as an alumna. Kitchen closes at 1:30am and last call starts at 3:30am everynite. Dark interior with lots of room. Bar and tables. Outside seating, too. Horse racing and baseball on giant TV screens. Pretty flags. Giant ceiling fans. Just having house chardonnay and handcut fries, listening to The Marvalettes, Please, Please, Mr. Postman. Xxox
First time here and loved it! Friendly staff and a really fun trivia night. I ordered the chicken fingers which came with really delicious honey mustard. Plus they are a Mets bar, so now I have a new local spot to watch games. Definitely a place to come back to.
Nice neighborhood bar, popular with college students and Mets fans. I enjoyed a Mermaid Pilsner and a friendly welcome.
Edit: Having read the owner 's bizarre response, I am updating my review to 1 star. The idea that I have to earn this guy 's trust to pay for $10 tater tots after eating them is crazy. I would also note: I was not offended by their policy. The first time, it was a hassle because the card was never returned to my table (as there was hardly any service at all). The second time, I was only carrying cash with me, so it was not possible to provide one of my cards.
Went there to watch a game. Started out by ordering two non alcoholic beverages. I was served by a nice waiter and a nice waitress (both early mid 20s).All of a sudden, after a total of 15 min. of being there, enjoying the game and minding my own business, this scruffy looking bar woman, (big eyebags), comes up to me and says I have to ask you to leave, if you don 't start ordering food! .The bar seemed pretty empty and not about to be full later, so I was pretty perplexed. The irony is that I was just about to order food, but left and ended up at a nicer bar to enjoy the game.
