I got the short rib pasta and it was good, but nothing to write home about. I came about 45 mins before closing and service was pretty good but felt rushed. If you want people out by closing you should have a cut off time for your seating. I was expecting more considering the price point, but for a one time experience it wasn't bad. View all feedback.
What EmilyD doesn't like about La Masseria:
The service was excellent and the ambience was pleasant (though really loud as the pre theater crowd packed in). Food uneven the green beans, tomato and goat cheese salad was very good, the bolognese was excellent, the white clam sauce was only so so because the garlic was burnt. Grateful for the gluten free pasta option. View all feedback.
We thought this was a solid dining experience. If anything was lacking it was the service — lacked any personality or warmth. All apps varieties were solid, seafood salad was excellent but the fried shrimp and calamari wasn’t crispy more like soggy too much oil. All but one of us had a pasta as a first course they were all good the short ribs probably the best and pasta cooked al dente. The penne was over cooked a major issue for me. Entrees were very good branzino with the tomato mushroom side was bright and cooked to perfection loved the subtle smoke— well done chef! The special…squid ink pasta had great flavor pasta cooked perfectly unfortunately lobster was a little over cooked. Risotto was good and chicken parm good but I blames our guests lack of creativity in her choice on the latter: Masseria better than many, but not great enough to make me want to go back.
Great restaurant with great food. Recommended to all the Italians people
Food, service and environment was great. Reserve seats in advance.
Quick bite after Hadestown at 11pm, right next door. No rez drop in dinner. Unbelievably efficient a . In/Out 35 mins. Awesome food and service in a family run OLD SCHOOL white tablecloth and very welcoming experience.
