Always love coming to a great Steakhouse, so I was very excited to try out Keens. Dressed up nice and got ready for a great meal, and was not disappointed. As live long NY'er, Peter Lugers is the gold standard, but I still like to give other places a fair review. While different than Lugers, it's definitely worth the visit. The thick cut bacon and fresh seafood were great starters, but the main event did not disappoi... View all feedback.
What Mike R doesn't like about Keens:
Went here for a celebration. They bring a nice warm bread to the table and fresh veggies. Those were tasty The apps Started w Bacon which was delicious, oysters both regular and Rockefeller were not bad. For Mains we had Portherhouse, Mutton Chops and Chateaubriand steak. The steaks were more on the rare side and which i do prefer but a bit under cooked. Flavor was average. Key lime for desert was good. Overall place... View all feedback.
Awesome dinner. Staff wearing masks and they check for vaccination card before being seated. It's a 4.5 stars. Our server did a great job. I had the double mutton chop which is delicious very delicious, served with swiss chard. We also the fried calamari salad very delicious with a little bit of spice, just right although the calamari was slightly over cooked. The prime NY sirloin was perfectly cooked, juicy, and tender. The interior is unique with the clay pipes on the ceiling dating back to 1885. The atmosphere brings you back in time. Dark but light enough. Great dessert menu and after dinner drink selection. Overall I would do it again and try their porterhouse steak for two or three, it looks awesome, you can get it sliced or not, same with the mutton chop, I had mine sliced.
Great ambience and history behind this place. Loved the many different rooms and levels for dining. It takes you back in time with the decor and art. We ordered the porterhouse for two and it was absolutely delicious! It was cooked perfectly and super tender! Definitely an essential spot to check out in the top steakhouses in nyc!
Far and away the best meal we had in NYC. Great presentation and service in a charming, atmospheric restaurant. The huge plate if crudites, fantastic blue cheese dip and breads were a tasty and unexpectedly generous start to our meal. Certainly it was very expensive overall but none of the party objected as it was just so good. That said, some items on the menu are extremely reasonable by NYC standards. Well worth it and an excellent experience.
This place is really great! We have been to some of the best ranked steakhouses in the world literally and the steak here was quite insane. It was also comically large. I got the prime rib king?s cut and it is pretty much impossible to finish. For starters, we had the oysters Rockefeller, delicious! The fish was fantastic and the sides of sautéed mushrooms and hash browns were also pretty great. The staff is awesome and super friendly. All in all a great experience.
Probably one of the best restaurants I have been to. The ambience is perfect for a cozy indoor dining experience. Ordered the mutton chop appetizer, T-bone steak, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, NYC cheesecake and carrot cake. All the food was heavenly and portions were very generous for the price. The beef and cheesecake were phenomenal. Highly recommend checking this place out!
