Contribute FeedbackMoscow 57 offers a vibrant and diverse atmosphere, with a mix of patrons including European expats, LES hipsters, artists, couples, and groups. The chic yet casual setting evokes an artistic salon from a different era, featuring exceptional live music. Owners Ellen and Seth are terrific hosts, and the extensive menu offers excellent options. The small size of the restaurant necessitates reservations, but the varied performers and good food make it worthwhile. While there have been complaints of overbooking, overall, guests enjoy the party-like feel, friendly staff, and outstanding Russian cuisine. Moscow 57 promises a lively and enjoyable dining experience for all.
This was the perfect place for a group of 8 friends meeting for dinner and drinks on a Friday night. The mood inside is a relaxed environment and our server, Judith, was a professional. She recommended good dishes and drinks and cared for us all night. Menu is usually small plates that combine recipes from Russia, Eastern Europe and Asia, but everything we lubricated was excellent.
Moscow 57 has everything: a busy, unpretentious scene (a mix of older European expats, young LES hipsters, artists of every stripe, canoodling couples and rough groups); a chic yet casual, deliberately shady atmosphere that reminds an artistic salon from another era; excellent live music performances; wonderful hosts in the form of Ellen and Seth; especially EXCELL Most venues with live entertainment about the quality of their kitchen; not so Moscow 57, where almost everything on the extensive menu is excellent. This is not the place for a quiet night outside, but it is a guaranteed good time.
This restaurant is small, so reservations are highly recommended. Different performers every half hour which is great. Jazz, 20s, old Russian songs it's a lot of fun. Food is good too. Highly recommend and will return.
The staff was so welcoming and friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed and I was part of a table of 15. Their infused vodkas were also amazing (I got the strawberry but they have other cool flavors, too). Definitely recommend for big groups. The live music is fun and the waitresses perform too. Overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend!
Surprising that such a small restaurant could have everything: excellent authentic Russian cuisine (don't miss the Blinis or the baby dumplings or the pressed chicken), homemade cakes (and try the pudding), and interesting infused vodkas and mixed cocktails (try the refreshing Gurke Wodka and Soda) all served by friendly staff that you feel like part of the family. And there's a nice live music that doesn't make you scream or burst your drums. We'll be back soon!
