Il Bastardo - New York

The entire experience was worth every penny can’t wait to go back!

I’ve rated Il bastardo as high as possible for their customer service. My wife and I visited New York to celebrate our first anniversary. This was a stop off for what we thought would be an easy dinner a couple hours after arriving. We arrived and the place was full on bumping at open. We looked at each other and said “what did we just pick?!” Clearly not the quiet dinner we had envisioned, but the staff could not have been kinder. Explained the scenario to owner/ manager (Samar and he was very gracious. Called Samad at their sister restaurant, Bocca di Bacca. Arranged transport and a champagne toast for us upon arrival. We had a wonderful meal. Would recommend based upon how this establishment is managed. Struck me as a fun place to get weird with your friends

Service was non existent, can’t say how the food was. Had the reservation and was seated after a minute wait, no waiters or servers came to our table; we went for drinks at the bar and literally no one was working the bar

Came here this past Sunday for my birthday brunch. It’s legit a club scene so expect very loud music and dark lighting. My friends and I really wanted a celebration so it was great for us. Food isn’t star quality but it was sensible, did the job. The only annoying thing is that the wait staff is constantly rushing you, to eat, clear the table and bring your check. They don’t play about the hours of dining, and they are also strict with the coat check. We stayed another hour or so for partying/dancing/pictures. The music was really good. All in all it was a fun experience with decent food and a bottle of champagne for each of us individually. If you’re looking for a dining experience, this isn’t for you. If you want a fun party with your people’s, I’d say give this place a shot
