What User doesn't like about Hill Country Barbecue Market:
This grill restaurant in Chelsea is quite good. My friend and I tried the plate for 2, which gave us the opportunity to sample a variety of meats. I particularly enjoyed the ribs. View all feedback.
Have tried Pitmaster platter and burnt ends here. The platter was just OK, the brisket and ribs were pretty dry. Chicken was actually the saviour. Sweet potato mash was just mind-blowing. Burnt ends had a great texture mostly, but were wayyyy too salty. I don't know what they put in their rub to make it that salty. But the fat was cooked very well, it was almost like butter. Cornbread is not worth $4, should be included with meats.
For those who like BBQ-style dinners with large groups, this is the best place around. I haven't been there on a Live music night but this homegrown Texas barbecue place offers nice live shows every other day. It has high ceilings and pretty comfy searing area. I love their sauce, nachos and wide selection of Texas style cocktails.
If you want spareribs or brisket this is the place to go to. The food was excelent, and so were the service and prices.
The ribs, chicken, brisket were all good but they need to ensure that a complete selection of side dishes is available at lunch. It's disappointing that they didn't have mac cheese orpotato salad and don't allow a substitution of fries with the Cue Two lunch special.
Our server, whose name I think was Cal? (Tall white guy with reddish hair) was literally the nicest, most efficient, enthusiastic, happy server I've ever had in my life. I want to clone him.
