Love this place!!! Food is great, Sake list is reasonable and it feels like I'm back in Tokyo... Now if I could just find a Yakitori place that didn't cost an arm and a leg... View all feedback.
What vicki doesn't like about Donburiya:
I liked how @donburi.ya has a good variety of izakaya food options one of the things I miss the most about Japan! The taste however is quite average, and I think they don’t match up to the price point. View all feedback.
The best Japanese restaurant in new york. My favorite!Food: 5/5
We had the kanitama, which was crab omelet on a hot pan, and it was SO GOOD. Loved it a lot, it was a creative texture I haven’t had in a long time too. I thought the chicken katsu though was a bit too thick––hard to chew on the inside. The miso soup is good but overall I wasn’t that impressed with the dish. We came in at like 7:30 but we were able to get a table and the service is friendly and fast.
The atmosphere is ok, so is the food, while the service was adequate. The best thing about is it is pretty cheap for the Theater district.Ordered one of their famous Donburi, which comes with a miso soup (the best part of the meal) and the chicken katsu. Chicken was ok, while the base for the dish was very plain. Overall it’s an ok place, if you’re in a hurry.
