Chumley's - New York

I have rated this place very well because I have heard that it is and it was not really her fault (I guess) but here is our story. About a week long my pregnant woman was very excited to go to chumley and eat a burger that should be excellent. she mentioned it every day. about two days before, I received a call to confirm and inquire about all food allergies. I told them my wife has an allergy to mango, they say no problem. we came and sat down (the place is very beautiful) and again we are asked about food allergies and reconfirm their mangoallergy and we tell her that she is pregnant. this time, the waitress says that's weird and goes away. now time for ordering: my wife ordered her burger who she was so happy, only to say 's mango in the sauce and she won't take out, probably related to chef victoria blamey. I know my wife was on the edge of the trench (I can't stress enough how much she was looking forward to her getting pregnant, we just started new stressy jobs, and we don't eat so much bark), but we ask for a moment to see the menu again. the waitress returns and my wife has forcibly regained her and now asks confidently about the escape. ok, but she didn't cook it on the medium, says the waitress, which is obviously not an appropriate wing temperature for a pregnant woman. we said to the waitress that unfortunately we cannot stay for dinner. the waitress was the understanding and recommended a place at the corner that is really good. and at least it was when I had eaten there a few years ago and we were on the way. we ended up with burgers in minetta tavern that were excellent and prepared after our request. at the end we had a nice evening. chumley 's seems like it's probably a great place to eat, but not if their pregnant or allergic to mango, and not if they want that eating in any case different from the choice of the cook prepared. a total of 5/7 would run out again.

The new chumley’s is great. the oyster preparations are imaginative and oh so good. other appetizers are prepared for perfection, especially the thunfisch carpaccio, which was new to the menu. the candy we had for the second time was delicious again. soft shell cancers were unfortunately spectacular, they were the last of the season. the people are however what really make chumley's special kitchen is the first price that manager, server, bar and everyone on the floor is really good.

Wonderful experience and delicious food. Once they have eaten a chumley burger, they will never be satisfied again with a burger. excellent appetizers and entrees. the perfect place for a special meal.

Go for a burger and a cocktail and enjoy the ambiente.

Should have checked the menu before we went I'm a vegetarian and the only menu option for me was porridge. I had been here years ago and loved the pre renovation vibe, so much energy and character. Kind of stuffy and subdued now. Miss the old place.
