Contribute FeedbackChina Blue offers authentic Shanghai cuisine in a beautifully decorated space in Tribeca. While some reviewers found the food disappointing, others praised the menu's authenticity and quality. The restaurant's ambiance, inspired by 1930s Shanghai, is noted as unique and charming. However, the slow service and high prices have also been mentioned as downsides. The cocktails are a standout, and the restaurant is seen as a promising addition to the area's dining scene. Despite some mixed reviews, China Blue seems to offer a promising dining experience for those looking to explore Shanghai cuisine in a stylish setting.
The food and service were outstanding!! I live in the neiborhood and have eaten here many times. The service was horrible when they opened but now they've got it under control. I trek to Cafe China, their sister restaurant but now I don't have to, its sooo good!
It was surprisingly nice. Fresh and flavorful. The Fish in rice wine is to die for.
Very authentic Chinese food in a very romantic and stylish atmosphere.
This is a beautiful second effort by the team that brought us Cafe China. The food is very well made the pork ribs were tender and melted from the bone, the crispy duck had a nice crack in the skin while they tender and moist on the inside. The soup dumplings were correspondingly delicate. The restaurant is spacious and disassembled into different rooms, so it doesn't seem hollow. The decor transports you to Shanghai's covenant with small touches here and there both contemporary and antique pieces.
In the beloved Capsouto Freres over the years it was bittersweet to try his exchange. The pretty room was well converted into the 1930s Shanghai quite successfully. We were a little disappointed at food, but some of them could be due to the fact that we are not so familiar with regional Chinese cuisine.
