Great Puerto Rican!. Flavorful arroz amarillo (yellow rice) and great roast pork. Like mom used to make, if she was a talented caribbean chef.

CASH ONLY I wish I would have read that in the reviews prior to arrival, but stuff happens! If you don't have cash, there's an ATM next door. Being Boricua and from Florida, I had high expectations for this meal. We ordered wayyy too much food, but everything was so good. My personal favorite was the pernil and the tostones, honorable mention for the habichuelas rojas. This is a real local spot, it seems to be a family running it. The place was packed the entire time we were sat (about an hour), with a line literally out the door. That's how you know it's good! The only thing I'd pass on if I were to return would be the papa rellenas, they were fried hard almost like an alcapurria and it took away from the flavor inside.

I went to Casa Adela in LES. A lil gem in the city. Puerto Rican vibe all the way. I got there and was immediately greeted and took my ordet. I got an alcapurria , while I waited. It was Delicious. Tasty, well seasoned and really, really good. I ordered the mofongo with a side of pernil. Absolutely divine it even had cuerito on top. I will absolutely go back whenever I'm in LES. Truly a hidden gem in the concrete jungle I call home NYC.

I had wanted to try casa Adela for the longest and finally made it happen. We went in on a thurs for dinner for four. When we got there, there was only a table for two but the workers quickly told us it would only be a few mins before it was available. We were sat down and were able to order rather quickly. When we sat down there were so many tables available and then around 8pm, it got packed. It isn't a gigantic space so beware when going for dinner rush. We ordered arroz con gandules, 1/2 pollo, mofongo con pernil, carne guisada with rice and beans and mofongo de camaron. EVERYTHING was delicious. You could tell everything is like homemade and fresh with the tastiest flavors. I especially loved the mofongo de camaron because it comes with this sauce that compliments everything well. Can't wait to go back and try more items!

It was my friends birthday and she wanted Puerto Rican food. It's a small spot with less than 10 tables inside. We waited for an hour outside in the heat and humidity. After we were seated and ordered I had to flag down a bus boy because we weren't given water with our water cups. However the food was excellent and almost made up for the long wait. I had the carne asada and it was tender and I loved the onions and plantains as well. Tip: this place is cash only!
