Bxl East - New York

Great food and beer selection. Would be nice to have full bar.

Unfortunately the service was as poor as we've ever experienced at BXL, perhaps worth considering another venue for business lunches. It's a shame because the mussels and food overall are very good.

My party arrived on time and it seemed like a nice place. We were brought to our reserved table for but we weren't given any menus. It took a while to get the menu and after looking around other customers were having the same problem. There was only one waitress and the bartender had to act as waiter for the table next to us. When we finally got menus and our order taken, the waitress forgot to put in my guests order. It took a long time to get her food which was just a cheeseburger. She finally got it and it was raw and she wanted it well done. They took it back and gave her another and apologized and took it off the bill but it was ruined the mood. They need additional waitress service at lunchtime!

We like BXL, since we lived in Belgium and can appreciate their national dishes. I think the other people in our group were fine with their choices, but my mussels were extremely small, like size kidney bean or smaller. You would never get them that small in Belgium. I asked the waitress before I ordered and she said, yes they will be big! But they were not at all. That's all, bitterballen and fries were really good.

Very small and a little snug. Nice neighborhood place with a limited but good menu. Would return on our next trip to NYC as prices very reasonable for a quality meal!
