Definitely a heavy hitter for the area. The food was spiced well and deeply, although doesn't taste strictly traditional. The portions were generous, with lots of meat and chunks of lamb in the biryani. The staff also went out of their way for requests. We asked for an espresso since we saw a machine in the resturant. You could tell they were uncomfortable but made it for us anyway. Truly felt like they went out of the... View all feedback.
What K S doesn't like about Brick Lane Curry House:
Not good taste. Dry and flavorless with too much green chilies. You cannot expect everyone to like green chilies in the dishes! Service was also not good they just want your dollars.Food: 1/5 View all feedback.
Great restaurant for a family meal or a date night. Good service, slightly limited bar, but the food was excellent. My in laws are Indian and rarely eat out at Indian restaurants and we all loved it. The butter chicken is AMAZING. Phaal hot curry sauce is better to order as a side, and then add to the other dishes.
Food is absolutely delicious and for the the helpings are good. The menu appears on the pricier side at first glance but the tasty food and generous portions actually make up for it. We sat outside (one of two tables) due to covid times but the ambience of this street just sucks. Loud traffic and screaming hobos. Highly unpleasant. This place is ideal for ordering in from (I didn’t check out the interior). The food i’d say is top notch! They even gave us a complimentary dessert(yummy). My friend and I split the paneer tikka masala and nilghiri curry (which I’ve never had before but was mind blowing). Definitely would order from here but to take out and not dine -in (at least not outside) can’t say about their indoor though. Food is A
I had never been to this restaurant but was looking for a place to reserve outdoor dining. Their outdoor set up is too exposed for recent temperatures (though they have heaters), so we ate inside and it was like a dream of beforetimes. Except that there were only two other tables, maybe three at one point. So it was quiet, service was great, and the food there is excellent. Also, the wine list is decent and so well priced. I'll be back again.
Since the lock down we have not been able to eat indoors. It was a real treat not only to have Indian food for the time in nearly months but have delicious Indian food indoors! There's pretty much nothing on the menu that's bad it's all tasty and served fresh.
We didn't realize the restaurant had recently moved and had no alcohol licence (BYOB) We didn't have to wait for our table (promptly seated As a part of six, we ordered a varied selection of appetizers entrees from vegan to lamb. The pankora was good. The onion bahji was a bit sorry in the middle. The lamb and veggie samosas were good. The chutney portions were sparse. The vegan daal option was very flavorful. The green curry chicken was excellent. The lamb gravy was very good but the meat was a bit tough.. The accompanying rice was marginal.
