Blue Haven - New York

Some of the reviews here are simply ridiculous and quite funny. I've been a regular at Blue Haven for years, and they consistently deliver, whether I’m there for a boozy brunch, a casual lunch, or a night out. The staff is fantastic and incredibly dedicated to ensuring everyone has a great time. From the long-time employees to the newer ones—Sarah, Andrew, Adam, Sabina, Vinny, Delilah, Jesse, James, Beth, and others—they’re all genuinely kind and laid-back. Treat them with the respect they deserve, and I promise you won't want to leave! When it comes to the food, it's a no-brainer; if you’re not eating, you’re missing out. The mozzarella sticks and poutine fries are absolutely must-tries!

I visited this restaurant with a few friends on a Friday afternoon around 3 PM. There was a blonde bartender who was very rude when explaining the drink options. As we all work in the service industry, we were taken aback by her attitude. We ended up leaving and went to the Red Lion down the block, where they truly understand hospitality. I would recommend avoiding this place if you don’t want to deal with poor service.

Blue Haven West is my favorite spot for watching games. The indoor area is lively and can get quite rowdy, which really enhances the atmosphere. When the weather is nice, there’s plenty of outdoor seating as well. Don’t overlook the food, either! The General Tso Cauliflower is absolutely fantastic, and the wings and chicken tenders are just as impressive. Don’t be deceived by the flat shape of the tenders—they're incredibly tasty. I always order the smoked soy sauce on the side, and it's perfect! This place serves some of the best bar food in the city.

The food is excellent for bar fare. It's a fun venue for football Sundays, with plenty of TVs to catch the games. However, the service was terrible. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order while the staff sat on their phones, vaped, and chatted with friends, completely ignoring the other customers. Because of this, I won’t be coming back.

I had a very troubling experience at this restaurant. My credit card was stolen by the waiter, and the following day, I noticed charges totaling around $3,000.
