Some guests have had issues with the air conditioning and service, while others have had seamless experiences planning events at the restaurant. Overall, Anassa Taverna seems to be a popular neighborhood spot for a nice Mediterranean meal, with highlights including the Greek salad, redfish, and homemade hummus. Customers also appreciate the lunch special and complimentary bread with hummus. Despite some pricing issues, the restaurant remains a favorite for those looking for tasty, fresh Mediterranean cuisine in a beautiful dining atmosphere.
Oh my, the complimentary bread and hummus were incredible. The homemade hummus was the best I have ever had. The redfish, wrapped in parchment paper with fresh vegetables was delicious.
Edit on my previous 5* review, been coming every few weeks for a bit. Today? We noticed a staggering price increase, $15 for 3 shrimp (PAST FEW TIMES HAS BEEN 4 see photo below!!! on top of my $20 salad that is slightly skimpy to begin with. Chicken was$10. For 2 salads nothing else with tip was $80!!!!!!!! That is wild even for NYC..I don?t normally feel ripped off but today,I do. AMAZING! Delicious, great service, fresh= LOVED!
Had a great dinner here! The food was very good and the drinks were even better. Had really excellent gin dirty martinis and an espresso martini!
I give this restaurant a 4.5. They served the best greek salad i?ve had in my life. The vegetables are so fresh- I typically dislike tomatoes and cucumbers but they were served perfectly in the salad. The hummus was also amazing, and the zucchini chipslooked great. The restaurant itself was cute and had nice decor. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a cute andtasty/fresh meal.
Had a bit of time to kill before dinner reservations. Sat at the Bar and the bartender was very nice and provided great service. They provided a hummus dip w/bread as we ordered the Grilled Shrimp along with a glass of Reisling and a cocktail that I don't recall the name. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and left us wanting more but couldn't be greedy with other reservations. I'd like to try other items on their menu with how delicious the shrimp were.
