We love Amigo by Nai and it never fails to deliver. The food is creative, amazing, and made with wonderful ingredients. Our favorites include the brussel sprouts, rib taco, and semi-fredo dessert. Last night we also had the dorado. The service is always excellent. The ambience is stylish but laid back. This is our favorite restaurant in the East Village and we always bring our out-of-town friends there. View all feedback.
What Kyle’s Kinetics doesn't like about Amigo By Nai:
If you're looking for a different take on Mexican food, Amigos small plates might be just what you're looking for. We found the starters better than the tacos/tostados, with the shrimp tacos especially tasty. View all feedback.
Amigo reminds you why it’s called the hospitality industry. Incredible service. Incredible food. Value for money. Good vibes. Could not recommend more particularly for group bookings.
Amiga by Nai was great! Good for dates or group dinners. Highly recommend the corn appetizer, shrimp tacos, rib tacos, and lamb entree. The lamb literally falls off the bone and is sooo melt-in-your-mouth tender. They give you freshly made tortillas to make your own lamb tacos. It’s all delicious. The reason I knocked off one star is because I was pretty disappointed by the oysters (I didn’t personally like the ice on the oysters or the sauce that came with it); the cauliflower tacos (flavor wasn’t quite there, and the texture didn’t really work for a taco); and the octopus starter (I usually love octopus, but it was over cooked). Maybe it was an off night! All in all I had a great experience, just a few dishes that didn’t quite live up to what I was hoping for.
The food is PHENOMENAL along with the drinks. Ester and Annie were so kind and provided excellent service, even though we happened to have the last reservation of the night before they could go home. 11/10 would recommend and I cannot wait to be back for more!!
I liked the food, but I felt the worst wasn't very consistent. The lamb and eggplant tostada were my favorite, the lamb because it cut through the sour flavor of the rest of the food, and the right because it had three most complex flavors. The octopus and shrimp tacos packed a good initial punch, but in the end didn't stay with me. The salmon tartare had too much cucumber.
These people are great. wonderful eating and the server were really nice.
