The sandwich bread here is excellent! I ordered the Daniela (tuna, mozzarella, arugula, peppers) and it was delicious. Even though I had to wait a few hours before eating it, the sandwich held up well. And the fact that they now accept card payment is a big plus. View all feedback.
What Ricky Su doesn't like about Alidoro:
I ordered the Mona Lisa sandwich and it was the most disappointing Italian sandwich I've ever eaten. There was hardly any eggplant and it lacked any flavor. Additionally, the prices were high. I will not be returning to this restaurant. View all feedback.
Alidoro is a delicious neighborhood joint that does sandwiches really well. I had the Pinocchio which was amazing. Well worth the trip! They have several locations around the city.
Giant, perfect sandwiches! One will cover lunch and dinner. Bread is fresh, ingredients are top notch. No frills, no wasting time, know what you want to order when you get to the counter because the guy making sandwiches is not there to chat. I’m any case, you can’t go wrong, it’s all good. Also, an assortment of oils I oils and other canned and bottled Italian products, which make great gifts. Only one small table inside. (They take cash and cars, but no Apple Pay
Amazing sandwiches 10/10. Service is great and I love the atmosphere
No mask policy. None of the staff were wearing masks. Food was good but that didn't make me feel particularly safe!
Compact, unique Italian sandwich shop in the Soho area. Also has other locations. Google says they are cash-only, which is NOT the case, at least at this location. off-beat assortment of Italian related items (movie posters, wine bottles, photos) decorating the walls and along with some Italian specialty items. One table available for eating inside. I will readily admit before going on that we may have been able to address some of the things that we found lacking by taking more time to ask questions or peruse the menu. But we also felt rushed to make decisions by the woman behind the counter because it was busy. That being said, we chose two sandwiches-the Dondolo and the Donatella. The former was soppresatta salami and fresh mozzarella and the latter was prosciutto and fresh mozzarella. Both included “dressing” which I believe was just a lightly seasoned olive oil.The bread choices were a white or a wheat Italian loaf or for a dollar more, a round focaccia or another roll shaped loaf called stirato. Stirato is described as a form of focaccia or the “Italian baguette”. We both chose the stirato. The sandwiches themselves came with a decent amount of the meats and cheese but that’s it. This is where our menu knowledge would have made things better, as there was no veggies or condiments of any kind on the sandwiches. The bread was a little hard for our taste on the outside but nice and light inside. If we had been informed enough to maybe add some tomatoes, other veggies, more oil, maybe some pesto, any item available to liven up and provide a bit of moisture would have improved them greatly. As I said, mainly our fault for not having enough details. I would try them again any time as I can tell they know what they are doing here, just take my time before placing my order.
