I wasn't impressed with Nocello in the past, but returned for Restaurant week last year and have been coming back ever since. Their food is delicious, healthy and beautifully composed, and service is top notch. Their use of wild fish, organic poultry, quality olive oil and more is truly appreciated. Their wild salmon with mustard sauce is excellent and the chocolate cake shipped from Italy is not to be missed! View all feedback.
What Laury Bednar doesn't like about Nocello:
I want to love this place. The ambience is not posh. It is cozy, welcoming, neighborhoody, every day go to which I like. The wait staff, and everyone associated with the restaurant are competent and fun and welcoming. The food is average Italian food. You might get anywhere in America. Unfortunately, nothing special and not why you come to New York City. View all feedback.
This is a delightful family-owned traditional white tablecloth Italian restaurant. On bustling 55th Street, but comfortably quiet and cozy inside. And the food is very very good with many choices. You can go with 3 or 4 courses if you wish, but we were well satisfied with an appetizer and a pasta, and generous glasses of wine. (It is important to save a little room for dessert ! You know you’ve picked well when you see a local family with a stroller pops in for dinner, and everybody is smiling.
Was the best meal we had in New York so far. Would definitely come back. The pork chop special was very tasty and soft. The whole meal was a hit.
Delicious food and top notch waitstaff. Owners were very excited to be there and rattle off the night's many specialties. Recommend the Oysters Rockefeller, Veal Bolognese and Vodka Spaghetti with Lobster and Shrimp. After dinner perfect drink: Nocello!
We came here as a birthday dinner. Unfortunately, it was not an enjoyable experience. We were welcomed poorly, and the servers paid very little attention to us. The portions were small. Price point is incorrect, it's actually $20-30 per plate. The establishment was very small and cramped.
Came to NYC with my daughter on a whim. Loved the food the atmosphere and the service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back i the future.
