Pizza Romantica Restaurant

Enjoyed a tasty lasagna and side salad. Talked with very friendly chef that told me he has been cooking Italian food for 22 years. They are open until late at night and they are right downtown, possibly the only restaurant that stays open until at least 11pm in that area. Price was good, food was tasty, place looked very clean, actual cloth tablecloths and pleasant atmosphere and above all very friendly service with a smile. Will definitely return.

Run away quickly! Paid 57.50 for two homemade lasagna specials which we could not eat. Floating in grease and cheese sauce, bubbling hot on top, cold in the middle. Chef boyarde would be better. Bruschetta was a burnt soggy bun. When the brought the buns to the table with cheese and butter it was obvious the butter had been used by someone else, it had an old chunk of bun in it and the side of the dish had food on it. So gross it is probably the worst food we have ever been served in a restaurant. When we told him (the chef and waiter) he said oh we all have different tastes. Don't waste your time or money.

We recently visited this restaurant for the third time and sadly instead of getting better, it is getting worse. All times the wait staff has seemed inexperienced and not very professional but pleasant and we can get over that. This time was the worse as the waitress did not know the menu and did not explain things well at all which led to some mix ups. We have never had everything ordered appear correctly on any visit. Timing has also been an issue. Once an appetizer appeared after the main courses were all delivered. This third time four out of five items ordered were quite wrong and one was completely inedible. When we sent it back no one from the kitchen came out to apologize and the waitress did not seem that concerned. Our bill was wrong and had to be sorted out. The decor is tired but the food was good the first two times. However after this visit we will not be back and won't suggest it to others either.

I had intended to try this new restaurant for lunch. When I arrived just before noon, the servers informed me that the chef had not turned up, and they were trying to contact the owner by phone. I waited about 10 minutes, but as the kitchen was un-manned, and there was still no word from the absent owner, I left to look for a functioning restaurant.

When we called for a reservation we were told they would try to squeeze us in. When we arrived there were a small number of tables occupied. We waited about 1 hour for our dinner to arrive. We did not receive our salad until we asked for it; one dinner arrived - the chicken was undercooked and the pasta was absent. We waited for the second dish to arrive - a partially burned pizza! The chicken parmesan returned, cooked this time but without the pasta and had to wait again for its arrival. The third dish finally arrived with the wrong sauce and without the vegetables. It was returned and we waited again for it to arrive and when it did it was swimming in sauce and not appealing at all. As we looked around we noted that another table had their orders mixed up as well.We determined that it was the chef's first day and she was overwhelmed - who has a new chef start on a day when going out to dinner is meant to be special? It took us 2 hours from the time we arrived til we left. This is the second time I have been to this restaurant and the first time had issues as well. I was prepared to give it another chance but I have no intentions of returning and I will ensure that this experience will be shared with friends and family.
