The BeST breakfast place in town had to go back! The food is Always Great, they just know food. Service is always good, seating is a little tight for parties of five or bigger, but well worth it. The selection of breakfast is amazing, we haven’t had Anything we didn’t want again! We have been to more that this location and they just know how to do restauranting! If that is a word. Oh my goodness, it was absolutely delicious! We visited on a late Friday morning in December (the hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and it wasn't too crowded. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table for two. We were given the option of sitting in a short or tall chair. Our waitress was delightful and spoke honestly about the food options. I ordered the banana foster French toast, while my husband went for the cheese grits, eggs, sausage, and a gigantic biscuit. We also enjoyed some tasty morning drinks. The atmosphere was really nice, and we would definitely come back again!
We really wished we could have returned for breakfast the next day! The atmosphere is completely relaxed, the food is fantastic, and there's a really interesting story behind the name. The decor is charmingly quirky, perfect for a breakfast spot. We will definitely make it a point to stop by the next time we're in New Orleans.
The Ruby Slipper is an excellent choice for brunch. The banana foster French toast accompanied by a side of bacon is a fantastic option, and their blood orange mimosa is exceptional. The only drawback is that if you visit on the weekend, you should be prepared to wait quite a while for a table—up to two hours!

Had breakfast here twice during our visit to NOLA. Reasonably priced and generous portions! Great selections on the menu, something for everyone. Call ahead during peak hours to get on the list we called ahead at 9:30 on a Saturday, got right in at 9 on a Monday) They also have great art for sale and logo’d swag. It’s a sweet little breakfast place we thoroughly enjoyed.
