Was Anonym at Ruby Slipper a mag?
The service at Ruby Slipper was outstanding and very friendly, deserving a strong 4-star rating. I came around noon on a Friday and was seated immediately without any wait. While the shrimp and grits and sliders were enjoyable, they didn’t leave a lasting impression. The mimosa flight was a bit disappointing, so I probably wouldn’t order it again. I think sticking to their signature dishes might make for a more memor... View all feedback.
What Whitney H dislikes about Ruby Slipper:
I ordered the Southern breakfast, presumably named for the fried green tomato in the dish. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The grits were overly watery, the eggs had an artificial taste, the fruit was sour, and the fried tomato was excessively greasy. The only highlight of the meal was the potatoes, which are typically hard to mess up. Overall, this was the worst breakfast experience I've had at a re... View all feedback.
In terms of service, I went with a group of four on a Wednesday at around 9:30 AM and we were seated immediately with no wait. Our food was served in just 10 minutes after we placed our order.
What a fantastic place to visit! I checked in online to skip the long wait, which worked perfectly. The Ruby Mimosas were delightful, and the French toast bites were our favorite! I also loved that you can mix and match different Eggs Benedict, so you don't have to pick just one. I would definitely return when I'm passing through New Orleans!
I ordered the buttermilk slider duo (sorry for not having great food photography skills), and it was absolutely delicious! Their lavender Paloma was also spot on. Tony was extremely attentive and offered detailed recommendations, while being very considerate of dietary restrictions. They have gluten-free options available! I would certainly give this place a 10/10 and would definitely come back.
We went here for brunch because our tour guide suggested going to this location because it was less busier. We ordered coffee, the mimosas flight, French toast, and the southern breakfast. I liked the French toast, solid 4/5 but the winner for that wasthe syrup. I love that it?s not sticky super sweet. It goes perfect with the brioche French toast with the tangy strawberries. My partner wasn?t a huge fan of the southern breakfast but she loved the friend green tomato that came with it. To quote ?secondto the one my great grandma made? which is VERY high praise. The mimosa flight was okay, I liked two of the drinks and theother two were blah. Overall, would go again for brunch.
Seasonal Beignets are a must-have! The trifecta was a good mix. Sweet heat chicken and french toast bites was truly delicious! Not a single complaint. Ample seating indoors and some outdoors. We had 3 servers who made sure we had a fantastic time andtreated us as if we were regulars. One thing we were a huge fan of atmosphere wise is that it wasn't like a stereotypical brunchplace in the fact that you can't hear the people you're sitting next to with music blaring, etc. It was comfortable and a trulyenjoyable experience.
