This charming small bar on Bourbon Street features a live band that was quite enjoyable. The famous grenades are more about the nostalgia than anything else and are a must-try for every guest. For those seeking a stronger drink, it's best to stick to beer or mixed drinks rather than the pre-mixed options. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Little Tropical Isle:
The bartender was the worst! She gave me the wrong drink and I was like can you change it please. She literally said the price 3x times in a row. I'm to nice of a guy so it's whatever I paid for the drink I didn't want. The next day I come in I waited for all the people that were there first to order. I waited about 15 mins she had eye contact with me about 3 times during the time I was there. She takes 3other people... View all feedback.

I waited about 15 mins she had eye contact with me about 3 times during the time I was there. She takes 3other people orders that were next to me. Finally when I ordered she tells me frozen hand gernade are out baby. In such a rude way and walks away fast. I'm not the type of person who would write a whole story here. I just felt so disrespected. It was the first bar we went to so I wasn't drinking yet. She ruined my first experience in the French quarter
They have the best grenade cocktail that comes in a plastic, lime green cup and a little souvenir grenade thrown inside.Price is $11.00 and you can have it on the rocks or frozen.Excellent bartender! Worked the line fast as this was during Mardi Gras, Saturday night.
My husband was dead set on getting a hand grenade drink in New Orleans after seeing Jovi, from 90 Day Fiance drink one on the show. I have zero recollection of seeing this drink or knowing anything about it.I'm not one for novelty drinks because I live in Las Vegas and those places are a dime a dozen. My husband was adamant that we try it so we ended up sharing one. They're $11 and according to my husband, you can get a $1 refill. Is that true? The drink tastes a bit like melon. I'm a super lightweight when it comes to alcohol but I was fine sharing this drink. Definitely not overtly strong like some people in other reviews have mentioned. The drink comes with a tiny plastic hand grenade on top. Unfortunately the French Quarter is littered with these little plastic pieces. It would be good if they changed this to an ice cube or got rid of it all together. NOLA is slowing going back to the ocean, we could all do with less single use plastic that is going straight to a landfill.
Atmosphere was intoxicating and the drinks were strong. I needed to get a hand Grenade while walking bourbon and I'm glad we stopped. Drink was nice and strong and got us through the night. Great place and great music.
My first time visiting New Orleans “NOLA” and tried the Hand Grenade at Tropical Isle right on Bourbon street. It is strong and comes in a grenade shaped plastic glass and its long and you can carry it along with you while walking outdoors. It was great. You get an option of selecting either Frozen or with ice or a small or a large one.
