Espresso Express - New Orleans

I was thrilled to spot a small coffee shop right at one of the entrances of the building, so I thought I’d give it a try. Normally, I order an iced blonde vanilla latte, but since this was a smaller, different establishment, I opted for a simple iced coffee with a shot of vanilla and a double shot of espresso. Sounds easy enough, right? Well,… not quite! The first red flag was the condescending attitude of the woman at the counter, which should have been my cue to take my business elsewhere. Then, it seemed to take forever to prepare my simple order. I half expected the barista to have trekked to the hills of Sweden for the vanilla syrup! At this point, all I wanted was my coffee so I could leave, but I still had to deal with the grouchy woman at the register. Typically, I find that my coffee indulgences are worth the price, but not here. After paying for what felt like a silver goblet, I took a sip and was hit with an overwhelming rush that left me feeling drained. Honestly, I’m convinced I’m on the path to diabetes after just one sip. I figured it might just be the initial taste, but I was wrong again—they must have dumped half a bag of Domino sugar into the drink! Sadly, I couldn't enjoy it at all. I ended up tossing it in the trash as soon as I reached the escalator. It was a complete waste of my money. In retrospect, I should have spent my hard-earned cash at the nearby Pan Am building, where I would have received much better service and, without a doubt, far better coffee.

I absolutely love this place! It's conveniently located near my workplace, and the breakfast and lunch options are fantastic. I grabbed a coffee today, and it was truly delightful. The staff are all so cheerful and kind, and their warm smiles really brighten your day as soon as you walk in!
