Despite being busy, this spot feels like a hidden treasure, relying on word-of-mouth recommendations. The well-seasoned hash brown breakfast and incredible hospitality leave diners happy to wait for a table. With delicious food and friendly service, Commerce Restaurant is the go-to spot for a satisfying and affordable meal. Whether you're in the mood for crispy fried chicken or a hearty breakfast, this Houston establishment is sure to impress and become a local favorite.
This restaurant is always bustling with people, but it doesn't feel like a tourist trap. It seems to rely on word-of-mouth recommendations. The food is fantastic and well worth the wait. The space is small, so it's better to wait outside or get takeout. However, I will definitely be returning. The hash brown breakfast was perfectly seasoned and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The mimosa was also quite good. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I will definitely be adding this place to my list of favorites.
The restaurant did not live up to the hype for me. I must say, Houston's coffee scene is so impressive that I couldn't find a latte better than those in Houston. So I didn't have high hopes to begin with. The food was average. I ordered grits and hashed potatoes, while my husband had the all-American breakfast. He mentioned that the biscuit and bacon were cold. Overall, we found everything to be mediocre. The potatoes were the standout for me as they were well-seasoned. With so many other delicious options in the area, I don't think I will be returning to this restaurant.
The Commerce Restaurant is a family-owned and operated establishment that has been a fixture in the business district since 1965. The hospitality and food are both exceptional. While there may be a wait for a table, the service is quick and the experience is well worth it. I highly recommend trying out Commerce Restaurant.
Super busy place, but not touristic. it seems to be word of mouth recommendations. eating is great, definitiw a little wait. small room, so better to wait outside or take it out. but will come back definitiw. the Hasch-Braun breakfast was super well seasoned and loved it. mimosa was also pretty good. super friendly staff, definitely add this place to my favorites.
This was recommended by one of the locals. the staff was very pleasant and friendly as they gave us some suggestions regarding the dinge while we were there. the food was good. about $20 per person. the hotel is located in the city. pay them to park on the street that seems to be the norm. total good experience.
