My favorite Thai restaurant in town. Laidback place, very airy. Staff is kind. Good is great. I had Pad Thai, Red Curry and Tom Ka soup so far and they all were very tasty. They have a decent bar too. View all feedback.
What Mike Levien doesn't like about Budsi's Authentic Thai:
this place is not good. meat was tough, pad see ew inedible. messed up order. but if you like being in really loud places with a bunch of hipsters, this is for you! View all feedback.
My favorite Thai restaurant in town! It's a relaxed and spacious place with a friendly staff. The food is excellent—I’ve tried the Pad Thai, Red Curry, and Tom Ka soup, and all of them were delicious. They also have a nice bar.
The chicken wings were crispy and had a seasoning reminiscent of Chinese takeout. The sauce was a strong mix of fish sauce and vinegar. The flank salad was superb—its refreshing combination of mint and celery balanced out the saltiness of the meal perfectly. The drunken noodles were different than I expected; they used ramen (mi goreng) noodles, but the flavor was good. The Pad See Ew was decent as well, though the shrimp was a bit too mushy for my liking. I'm not sure if that’s just how they do shrimp in New Orleans. Overall, while I enjoyed the dishes, they did lean towards the saltier side.
Let?s start with the highs then go to the lows. The highs- the curry was one of the best I had. If you?re deciding on a noodle option- the drunken noodles were fine little noodles packed with satisfying flavor. The lows- the service. Since you place order at the counter, there must have been some confusion as to what we got but the food still came out relatively fast. It?s pretty noisy inside. And the pad thai was just decent.
While visiting our daughter in town, we had the pleasure of dining at Budsi's, and it was a fantastic experience! The staff was quick and attentive, serving our food promptly. We also learned a bit about the restaurant's history. If you're craving Thai cuisine and delicious cocktails, definitely drop by— you won’t be disappointed!
I absolutely loved this sweet restaurant! The food has so much flavor packed into it, great contrasting textures as well, not to mention how sweet and helpful all of the staff is! A heads up though, the portions are pretty large, so bring your appetite !! I definitely recommend the curry!
