Finally made my way over to try Blue Giant. It was a great experience. The vibe was right and the food hit the spot. My glass of water was refreshed often and several servers checked on us throughout the dining experience. I'm glad my coworker was up for trying this place out with me tonight. I'll definitely return. View all feedback.
What Emily V doesn't like about Blue Giant:
I'm sort of torn on Blue Giant. I ordered food for takeout a few times during COVID and have been once to eat in. This is PRICY chinese food which I wouldn't have a problem with but the dishes are really hit or miss. The fried dishes I've had are all good the dry crispy chicken, the crispy beef, the shrimp wontons. The spicy stir fried eggplant was flavored all right but they were giant hunks of eggplant, they could... View all feedback.
The Shrimp Fried Rice is an entire meal by itself. Wonderful service, excellent food and reasonable prices! I think it is one of the best Chinese Restaurants in the New Orleans area. I'll definitely go back for another visit.
AMAZING!! I loved this place. We got a bit of everything from the menu to taste it and there was literally nothing that wasn’t delicious! That crispy beef was my favorite. The service was top notch, and the drink options had something for everyone. Definitely give this place a shot! Get a reservation if you can.
Sometimes I really like going to a noisy restaurant I dont know why, but sometimes I am in the mood for it, and this was the place for it. Blue Giant is full of life, talking, laughter and cooking. When you walk in there are views of the open alley kitchen and the chefs are cooking and it is nice to watch. Seating surrounds the kitchen and you can see your food being prepared. There is also outside seating with a cozy garden vibe. We ordered crispy beef and sweet and sour pork, sautéed broccoli and shrimp dumplings, which were good. The red seasonings on top of the broccoli was too salty for me(I just dont like too much salt) Our waiter was ok, he needed to really be more attentive and friendly. He was so bland and blah. My daughter ordered a frozen drink and she never received it, but he added it to the bill. We had to let him know that he did not bring the drink to our table, instead of apologizing, he said "Oh Ok, I will take it off. I always tip at least 50% of the cost of my meal, because I like being generous to people who give good service, so he missed out on a nice tip. It is a decent place to try. Try to get the female waitresses, because I noticed at their tables they were attentive, friendly and courteous.
Took my credit card for a gift certificate of $100 on 1/8/2023. Charge went through 1/9/2023. Now closed permanently! Going to cancel if I can!!!!
New-style Chinese food in a gentrified setting. Fairly expensive, but quality.
