The signature cocktail is fantastic, of course, but everything else is equally great. This place has been a staple for a long time. The bar snacks are delightful, and the bartenders are very knowledgeable. Plus, there's a hidden tiki drink menu—just ask for it! View all feedback.
What Elijah Stark doesn't like about Arnaud's Restaurant French 75 Bar:
I think on the reservation, it should be very clear. We thought we were booking the Jazz Brunch. When we arrived we were told we booked the bar seating, and we had to sit in the bar, or in the upstairs at the restaurant where we could not see the band. We sat in the bar, but they did not check us in on the reservation for Open Table, so we had to file a dispute. The price was still the same for the Jazz brunch, even... View all feedback.
Hear ye hear ye Come here and be very prepared for a step back in time--a slice of nostalgia. You feel like your eating in a special place. I got a Caesar salad and the lettuce was crisp and green with no browns. The shrimp were very plentiful, perfectly grilled, and nicely applied to the bed of lettuce. The dressing was creamy delicious.
Can't speak to the food, but this bar is really nice and has excellent drinks. Service was fast and everyone we interacted with was very nice and polite. I enjoyed the Empress and my husband had the Mai Picante. Would definitely come back!
Spectacular service! We really enjoyed our dinner. The Chicken and Andouille Gumbo was authentic.. The Arnaud's Crab Cakes was finger licking fabulous! Then, the Caesar salad was the best I've had so far. Our main plates consisted of the Pompano David amazing and the Pontchartrain was exquisite. For the finale, Mille Feuille. I would definitely recommend and would always return to this gem of a restaurant.
French 75 is also a nice place to land for a quick drink when floating around and looking for an Old Fashioned or Martini.
Definitely one of the best bars in America although I didn't enjoy the French 75 that much, it's worth a try as you get some fancy Courvoisier and Moet and Chandon ingredients that are not cheap. The drinks are skillfully executed here, and you taste that from simpler cocktails like the Sazerac, to the fancy garnishes of Tiki drinks. The favorite two drinks I had here by far were the Speyside Sour, which is smokey, creamy, and smooth. The smoke flavor lasted in my throat until the next morning actually (may have had one too many drinks... . The Copa de Bomba is killer and is one of the best fruit Tequila drinks I've ever had. Staff is very skilled, and you _have_ to try this place when you're in NOLA.
