Went with family and friends for my birthday. The hostess, server, and table chef are professional and friendly. The Chef (Des) was great, kept us entertained the entire dinner. The food was delicious and all guests were pleased and want to return in the near future. We joked that Benehana should send him to Japan for a vacation and relaxation ? View all feedback.
What JenF doesn't like about Benihana:
This only pertains to the service we received. Our chef was late showing up when two other tables of guests who got seated after us were served. The chef was not engaging, didn't bothered to talk to us... it was for a birthday celebration but there was no any effort of the “Benihana entertainment”. My son was very disappointed. The most entertaining thing he did was his interaction with the other chef... very disappo... View all feedback.
Food was good. The service was okay our waitress was not the greatest she took long just to bring things to us. The hostess to check us in wasn't there. When we were able to check in we had reservations and some one walked in and got seated before us without reservations?? I was disappointed usually they are better. The bathrooms were gross and dirty they aren't maitained. It's like no nobody cleans them.
The waitress that helped us for the night was terrible. She kept getting everything incorrect. I asked her if I can get no dressing on my salad and she said “oh you need to mention that to your cook” and I was like okay? Next thing you know she brought all our table salads and I looked at her and said I wait I just mentioned to you that I did not want dressing on my salad and she said “oh so sorry I didn't understand you”?! How do you not understand no dressing on the salad? Also she was not checking in on us. I had to keep asking her for napkins and she would forget to bring them to us . And I asked for a refill and she forgot. By the end of the dinner when she was asking what ice cream we wanted I said chocolate. She came back with nothing and said “oh sorry did you want chocolate “? It was not loud in the room . She was just not paying attention. She needs to slow down and take your time . You can repeat yourself to me in order to get it right . Very disappointing dinner and the cook was not talking to us . And the food was extremely salty. Never had a bad experience here until now .
We were a large party, to the point we had to be split among two tables. Half our party arrived early, including my elderly mom in a wheelchair. They wouldn 't seat our partial party until the rest arrived. Being adjacent to our other party, it was easy to compare... they got their drinks, soup and salad sooner than us. Our service was consistently slower than our other table. The dinner show didn 't disappoint, as always. It 's great to celebrate a special occasion. Just don 't be in a hurry.
This has been worst experience I have had so far at a Benihana. Is the second time I've been at this location. The cook show very poor skills and knowledge about the food preparation. I request my rice to be a bit more cooked since not even the egg was well cooked and you could see it without touch in it, whiteout any response from him. My food was a seafood Diablo which is spicy. The cook just put a little bit of hot sauce on it and left at a corner without mixing it. I told him how I want it cooked as well, but he totally ignore me and was about to serve it on my plate, but I told him I didn't want it. I told the server about the food, but she seemed upset and walked away. I request to see the manager, I came and asked the rest of the people how was everything but ignore me as well. I asked if he was the manager, he said yes, but didn't even took the time to look at the food and walked away. I asked for my check, the server came and said, as a courtesy, we have removed the seafood Diablo for your check, you won't be charged for that. It was an awful experience, I've been donning at Benihanas for over 30 years now, I've never had that bad experience, but especially, never seen a food being prepared that bad. My date also asked for a Benihana trio, which Includes, shrimp, chicken and beef. She was never given the shrimp and when I mentioned, they just said, we'll get some cooked on the back. Definitely, I'll never be back to this location again.
Worst chef of all in my 35 yrs of Benihana experience! I had visited Benihana for the mother's day dinner with my whole family just 10 days ago, and we had such a good time enjoying delicious food and great service Today, we went back to celebrate my husband's birthday, but unfortunately, we had the worst chef of all in my 35 yrs of Benihana experience! The chef needs to be better trained: His hands were too slow to cook on the hotplate in front of the guests for tepanyaki, so all the foods were overcooked, charred, and dry to the point that I couldn't eat them. He forgot to serve the appetizer shrimps before the main; forgot to sprinkle the lemon juice on the seafoods; kept dropping the garlic butter everywhere as if he had an eye-hand coordination problem; kept looking at the order list as if he wasn't sure who ordered what and ended up making mistakes(serve me a kid's meal portion of Hibachi Chicken instead of an adult menu portion and forgot to serve Lobster for one guest who had ordered Deluxe Treat till the end of the dinner! I privately talked to the assistant manager during the dinner who offered me to cook a new to-go order in the kitchen and a $20-gift certificate for the future visit, and the manager later took off an additional 25% from my order. We will be back in two weeks with my friends, and really hope to have a better chef experience Benihana.
