Galen's - New Hope

Today: I am back in the area and found my way to go to Galen for the Wednesday lunch special. I had a lot of lunch and dinner and it was the best meal I had in 2021. Amazing food, generous portions and a fair price. What can a country girl ask more in the heart? A year ago: If you ever find yourself in North Alabama, you should definitely stop from Galen's. I grew up on land cooking and this place is legit! Where is Cobbler considered vegetable? $22 for 2 people with a lot to take home for dinner!!!! Please, for Stephanie. She is a treasure and will make sure you take care of yourself well, including giving you a drink to go.

Drove to New Hope for breakfast (because my place is not served in breakfast in our current situation) and was very happy with the clean dining room, efficient service and high quality food! I had her Alabama Omelette (3 eggs, cheese, meat choice - I chose sausages with toast, fresh tomatoes, gravy and one side of the bacon! It was excellent! Everything was perfectly boiled, coffee refills were prompt and I had enough bacon and Gravy left on the second slice toast to take home for an afternoon snack. Gaylen 's is one of those places where the regulars appear like clockwork and everyone knows everyone, but they have made me feel at home even though it was my first time. You have lunch specialties and Sunday brunch (I have included copies of the menus). I want to go back for lunch and try her chopped steak or meat salad with some good land pages, such as corn, green beans or potato salad among others. Just cook good land!

Best breakfast in AL. Tell them Tim sent you. Ask for Cindy or Kathy and the cook makes the best chicks and dumplings in town. Tuesday Thursday Saturday. Daily baked catfish.

The food and the service was excellent. The waitress was so sweet. She even brought our service dog some ice water. I can't b wait to go again. And they do practice safety and distancing.

Food was great service very friendly hard working staff. Loved it!
