Thistle - New Glasgow

I decided to visit this restaurant for a meal after a long week and was excited to see that my favorite server was working. I ordered the wings and they were delicious. My husband tried the Philly steak wrap and he also really enjoyed it. The restaurant was busy with lots of laughter and energetic conversation. It was a great spot to enjoy people-watching and relax. Thanks to our server, Jordan, for the excellent service.

On a Thursday evening (wing night), we visited this restaurant. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious. It appears to be a popular place, and the staff handled the crowd well. We had a fantastic evening.

I went to The Thistle on a Saturday for supper with my family. I havent been there in years. The front staff were friendly, acknowledge our presence and had us seated at a table in no time. Our waitress was excellent!! She had our drinks...and order in quickly!! And what can I say about the food...it was Amazing!! Im glad I went back to a place I havent been in years..I wasnt disappointed!!

I went to the Thistle with my friends and I was waiting outside for my friends and due to the social distancing rules, I decided to wait outside the foyer because there was already a couple inside the foyer. Then girls ended up going...in front of me because I was uncomfortable being so close to others in the foyer. When I explained that I was there first to the server, she was EXTREMELY IGNORANT to me for absolutely no reason at all and told me that since I didn’t go inside and tell her I was waiting and I was just standing outside, she didn’t even want to listen to me. THEN I went outside back into the foyer, and then to hear that she went out back and told all of her workers that I was “shooting off” and they were all laughing and saying disrespectful things about me in the kitchen. I could actually hear them laughing and saying things about me in the kitchen so I just ended up leaving because I have NEVER experienced such disrespect from a server in my LIFE. All because of a QUESTION I asked. I have never encountered such poor customer service ever, and I will not be coming back.

We have been going to the thistle for years and always have the best time with the best food and the best experiences!! I read a previous review about the patio and I feel like that is unfair considering the times we are in and...businesses are just trying to get back on their feet and dealing with the ever changing rules and guidelines. Rather than focusing on the negative, let’s focus on the beautiful renovations the new owners completed on the inside of the restaurant. I’m also a little confused as to why a person would go to a restaurant and enjoy the food and service and not want to return. I’m just extremely happy that one of the best restaurants in our community managed to survive the pandemic unlike so many other businesses.
