I visited Clam Box for lunch with a friend, and it was my first time trying the food. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese with onion rings, which was recommended by Rose, the chef, and it was fantastic! The sandwich was grilled to perfection, golden brown, and filled with a generous amount of lobster and cheese. The onion rings were the thin variety, which is my favorite and hard to find elsewhere, and they were golden and crispy. The coleslaw, made in-house, was fresh and crunchy and tasted great. My friend tried the clam strip basket with fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce, which was also homemade and delicious. The clams were incredibly fresh, which was impressive. Our server, Carmen, along with Rose, was wonderful and friendly, and we had a lovely chat with them. My friend also got some stuffed clams to go for her boyfriend, who is a fan of them. Rose mentioned they are made with fresh chopped clams and their house stuffing, and they looked delicious. I wish I had taken photos for next time! As for the decor, the tables and chairs felt a bit flimsy, the cups were small and plastic, and everything from the forks to the serving baskets was plastic as well. There was a soda machine offering water, but no unsweetened or hot tea, which would be nice to have. Overall, it had the feel of a beachside seafood takeout/eat-in place, but the food and the friendly staff more than made up for minor shortcomings. Having unsweetened and hot tea is definitely a must.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. If you’re looking for great seafood, this is the spot. We ordered the BELLY BUSTER, and it certainly lived up to its name. Everything on the platter was fresh and flavorful. I will definitely be returning!

Unfortunately, the first three items I wanted were out of stock, and when I asked about alternatives, I was met with a rude attitude. I was told my order would take 10 minutes, but I ended up waiting 20. Meanwhile, another customer who arrived later received their food within minutes. I was then told my order would be ready soon, but we ended up waiting 45 minutes for what should have been a simple meal. The seafood prices were comparable to Cape Cod, but the quality was disappointing. The fish batter was awful, and the portions were very small. The shrimp were okay, and the fries were the only good part of the meal. The onion rings were underwhelming. Overall, I would not recommend Clam Box. My wife and I love seafood, but this experience was a major letdown.

The tartar sauce was unusable—tannish in color and so thick that not a single drop came out when I turned the container upside down. We had to make our own. The New England clam chowder was very good, but aside from that, the rest of the menu just wasn't worth the price.
