We had another wonderful afternoon at Drusushof today. The food was fantastic, and the service was superb! Drusushof is very knowledgeable about contamination-free, gluten-free cuisine (which isn't always the case, and anyone who's experienced this knows how great it is to have a safe space). Everyone was made happy, and the children had a great time and were made to feel truly welcome. Highly recommended; we'll definitely be back!
“Culinary World Heritage in Neuss – The Drusushof Report” Forget everything you thought you knew about Rhineland brewery cuisine. I have to revise my previous standards: “Outstanding” doesn’t even begin to cover it. This is culinary sainthood on porcelain! The accompanying photo of the offending dish (see below) shows the sheer audacity of it: The Flönz (blood sausage): Three enormous slices, with a crust that crunches seductively on first touch, and a tenderness inside that you’d normally only expect from a prime cut of filet mignon. The fried onions: A golden-brown mountain of pure passion – fresh, crispy, and miles away from any mass-produced product. The roasted onions: A golden-brown mountain of pure passion – fresh, crispy, and miles away from any kind of mass-produced fare. The accompanying photo of the offending dish (see below) shows the extent of the “audacity”: The Flönz: Three enormous slices, with a crust that’s tantalizingly crispy on the first touch, and a tenderness on the inside that you’d normally only expect from a filet mignon. ... The mash: A hand-mashed masterpiece of potatoes and apples, perfectly balancing rustic texture with delicate acidity. Here, they don't just cook; they defend the honor of Rhineland cuisine against instant mashed potatoes and carton applesauce. If you don't eat here, you've lost control of your culinary life. Conclusion: I've applied for a second residence; the lease will be signed tomorrow with Schumacher Alt. Drusushof, you've won my heart (and my stomach)!
The Drusushof in Neuss is truly unbeatable! Superb, traditional cuisine – everything fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. We were particularly impressed by the regional dishes. The service is incredibly friendly and attentive; you immediately feel welcome. Add to that the cozy, rustic atmosphere with the building's unique charm. It's a place you'll want to return to. If you haven't been there yet, you absolutely must try it!
We went to Drusushof on a Friday evening and had made a reservation in advance, specifying that we needed to be gluten-free. Upon arrival, I was initially passed around to several people until the owner came to our table and answered all our questions. He spoke of his extensive experience, saying there had never been any problems, that everyone was aware of the gluten restrictions, and that I should relax. So far, so good, but unfortunately, reality was quite different, and relaxing was not an option. I ordered from the gluten-free menu, and corrections were necessary three times because first, the wrong dish was ordered, and then incorrect variations were added to the menu. In the meantime, I was given a beer that someone else had ordered. This doesn 't exactly scream we 're all aware of the restrictions. After much back and forth, the food finally arrived after about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The problem: the gluten-free plate was mixed in with the other plates, which contained schnitzel and croquettes, and were definitely gluten-containing and crumbly. Again, there was a lack of awareness. I had no symptoms afterward, so yes, I was fine. However, I was anxious the whole time and don 't want to repeat that experience. I can easily imagine that it 's quieter at lunchtime/on other weekdays. The selection of gluten-free vegetarian dishes isn 't very large. Furthermore, several ingredients listed on the menu were missing from my dish.
