What פלג אלטשולר doesn't like about Big John's Bar & Grill:
I have been there twice since the new owners have taken over this year. It's really gone downhill, it takes 30-60 minutes to get your food, mediocre portions, bland food and expensive. You see the new owners around but they don't greet customers or apologize...for the delays. The restaurant was already on a decline and I had really hoped the new owners would have elevated it, unfortunately, they are not. There is ano... View all feedback.
We thought we were drinking here before we drove to dinner on the street totem lodge. sitting on the terrace during this covid -19 situation was what we wanted and we were easily accommodated. we were a little surprised by the missing masks on the mozens. who came in and went out, but we were asked our names and addresses for tracking soldiers. So, the drinks were cold, the prices were reasonable and the intention gave us the entertainment to watch the water traffic and to wave past the boaters. a pleasant place safe.
As part of our girls weekend for a drink and a snack. beautiful view of the water and would be a great place to spend some time in the summer months. they were ready for the season to close so some of the options were. limited, but we had good fries and cheesecakes.
We've been here for years, love those in sight. we have our family for dinner on Saturday, the 27th juli and sat on the terrace. some of us ordered the slightly baked walleye with kartoffel of the day meal. it wasn't good! the fish was dried out and hard the kartoffel of the day was French pommes, the service was bad. the waitress always said: “The kitchen was very busy,” but the restaurant wasn’t even half full. the service was extremely slow and very bad. to finish everything, we paid for six people over $300.00. we will not come back, which is too bad, as we have many beautiful memories of going there in the years.

First time at Big John's last weekend. Went there for lunch, tried the chicken ceasar wrap with a side salad. The chicken they used was really good, perfectly breaded. Also tried the sweet potato fries and poutine, both were delish. Really quick services, had three...plates of food come out in about 10 mins. The waitress was attentive and checked up on us numerous times. After we walked down to the dock and dipped our toes in, which was nice. There were some kids fishing right off the dock at the same time. The views are gorgeous! Headed back there later at night and went to the bar downstairs. Fun little place and again, had great service. The outdoor patio is really nice, would recommend eating down there whenever it's open! Will definitely stop in the next time we drive through town and try their late night taco in a bag!
