The breakfast at this gas station is definitely not comparable to what you'd find at a coffee shop. I feel like I’ve been shortchanged; I’ve had $4 handmade burritos at coffee shops that are far superior. This has been quite disappointing.
The coffee was excellent, the service was quick, and the barista wore a mask and sanitized her hands between customers. It was a perfect experience!
After two years of experiencing consistently unfriendly service from one of the staff at Hugos, I feel I must speak out. The barista on duty this morning (11/7/21) was abrupt and rude. I was never greeted and always left feeling upset after being served by her. It seemed like she didn’t want to acknowledge me—she slammed the window open and said, "There are about five drinks ahead of yours," as if she wished I would just leave and stop bothering her. Because of this, I’ve decided to avoid Hugos altogether to escape her service in the future. I always approach with kindness, understanding she might be having a difficult day, so there’s no reason for me to be treated this way. I hope she improves, especially considering the great menu Hugos offers.
The coffee was enjoyable, but the burrito fell short of expectations. I wish there had been a warning that the burritos are heavily processed and taste like something from a gas station. It was quite a surprise. On the bright side, the woman who served the coffee was very friendly!
