Orissa Bhavan in Vashi has a modest restaurant run by the Government of Orissa. Went there with colleagues. The place is like a budget hotel, nothing great in the ambience. Tried the veg thali. It was typical Oriya food. Also had, the Famed Oriya chenna poda, it is worth a try.

Orissa Bhavan in Vashi has a modest restaurant run by the Government of Orissa. The place is neat and clean and serves good food. Their prawns are very good. Also, they have sweets which they sell by weight. The Famed Oriya chenna poda is available there and is a must try.

Great odiya dishes. taste is good. Not very costly. Just the location is an issue. It is located in. Vashi however it is accessible by local train. It is near Vashi railway station. Sweet dishes are there. You will love the food

We are regulars with Orissa Bhavan Canteen. It's situated conveniently very near to the Vashi Station in Navi Mumbai. There are two reasons why we go there often. The rates are very affordable; not a single dish is above Rs 180. By 'dish' we mean a very reasonable portion, like two pieces of Rohu Fish, or six pieces of chicken etc. The Thalis are very attractive. Today we had one Prawn Thali and one Fish Thali. The mixed vegetables (yummy) curry, Spinach, Sweet Semolina, Papd, and two big pices of Rohu fish completed the Fish Thali. Six medium sized prawns , and the above accompaniments were in the Prawn Thali. And the price? Rs 180 for the Prawn Thali and Rs 170 for the Fish Thali. The best part is the taste is very homely type, and you feel very much at home !Other dishes like Mutton Curry (Rs 180), Chicken Curry (Rs 170) are in the a la carted menu.The ambience is not much to speak about; it's very spartan, with plastic chairs and tables. One doesn't go to this canteen for ambience.The service is very prompt and helpful.Highly recommended.

Service is pathetic and there is only one person who is handling all things.Second thing you will see large menu but its useless and nothing available as per Menu. However in most cases they will tell you "its not available now" ...accepting this is a typical oriya food but Famous Oriya Pakhal rice not available,dalma not available,tomatoe khatta not available,poi saago sabzi not available,badi saago not available,salepur rassagulla not available...i dont know how they put this Orissa food centre...Place is good but i am not happy with there services and menu...
