I really wanted to give a better review for our experience here but there were a few too many little issues. We visited for Spanish night the venue was cold and dim. Our waitress had no idea about the menu, we were quite confused as to where to go initially. Starters were delicious. One of our mains were stone cold and had to be replaced. When we asked for a second bottle of wine it was simply left on the table with the cap on. We could have done with extra plates for the shared starters. The staff were very friendly and kind. The wine was delicious
Dining in a castle isn’t something you do every day, so this was a truly unforgettable experience. The food was outstanding, and the service was exceptional. It was also great to see Lord Henry, the castle’s owner, dining in the restaurant—quite a unique touch.
My friends and I went to Browne's for Sunday dinner and each chose a three-course meal. While I wanted to rate the restaurant higher, there were several issues. The chicken terrine was beautifully presented, but my baked oysters were overwhelmed by overly vinegary and crunchy vegetables. Additionally, the waiter accidentally spilled the oysters onto a bed of salt, making them overly salty. Although the main courses were made with quality ingredients and cooked perfectly, the flavors were disappointing—the dishes were bland and the sauces lacked depth. Service also fell short; we had to ask for wine three times before it finally arrived halfway through our main course, and the waiter seemed more interested in blaming colleagues than offering an apology. Overall, Browne's has potential but needs considerable improvements to justify its prices.
I was thrilled to be taken to the Gandon Room today for Mother’s Day. As a local and frequent visitor to Browne’s Bar in the castle, this was my first time dining in the Gandon Room. The service was excellent, the food exquisite, and the complimentary whiskey cocktail for all the mums was a wonderful extra touch. I will definitely be returning to dine in the restaurant. Kudos to all the staff and management!
My friend and I recently dined at Browne's. From the moment we arrived until we left, the friendly staff made us feel truly welcome. The menu was excellent, offering a great variety of choices. The dining room is tastefully decorated, warm, and comfortable. Browne's also boasts a well-stocked bar with non-alcoholic beer options. Additionally, they offer an early bird menu. I look forward to returning.
