I would rate this restaurant a solid 4.8 or 4.9! The food was outstanding. We ordered the scorpion roll, spider roll, dragon roll, and spicy scallop roll, all of which I highly recommend if you're a sushi lover. Oga has been my husband’s favorite sushi place in Metrowest for many years. As a family we always come here on his birthday and order the same food. I especially like Oga’s sushi 8 pieces. It looks like food but tastes like art. The fish always tasty fresh and melts in your mouth. Truly authentic Japanese food. Thank you!
One of the best Japanese restaurants in Metro Boston with prices substantially lower than Downtown Boston. It's worth getting through the traffic. Oga is at its best with daily specials. You can still ask for the specials when dining on but most have now been listed in the menu and the servers simply tell you what is or isn't available, when ordering. The nigiri is perfectly thought through and portioned, unlike many other places that either offer you too much rice on each roll, or too little. The fish is pristine in both sushi and sashimi. Maki selection is the almost the same as the original Ginza, where Oga ran the sushi bar. Some of the kitchen dishes are hard to find in this area, as is some of the fish in specials. Best eggplant, hokkayaki and agedashi dofu around not sure how they compare to NYC or LA but this restaurant would easily survive there. Exceptionally friendly and loyal staff I've seen some of them at both Ginza locations going back to the 90s. On the down side, the minimalist decor that was modern, bright and airy initially didn't age well. But some of it was functional, as the menu had been expanded prepandemic. But it could still use an upgrade. Overall, a great place that can be easily missed because of location. Also has a sister noodle bar in Cambridge and a now spun off teppanyaki restaurant in Nashua with a similar menu.
Great food! I would recommend it. Staff is very nice and attentive. Even on weekdays there can be a wait for dinner, so plan accordingly.
Authentic! Wonderful sake selection, food was terrific, but watch out, it's a little pricey! I would certainly go back for a special occasion, as the food and service was impeccable.

There was virtually no wait to be seated or for our food, and the restaurant was very clean. They offer a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The only area for improvement might be to diversify the drink menu, but that's a minor issue since they do have a good selection of sake and Japanese whiskey. I will definitely return and recommend it to my friends!
