Description

Slick Rick's blends diner comfort with standout dishes—debris fries, burgers, crawfish nachos and fresh salads with house-made dressings—served quickly in a cozy, record-lined room. Friendly service and tempting bakery treats keep regulars returning, and it's a solid stop for tourists. But diners note inconsistent execution (occasionally cold or burnt items), cramped staffing, lingering fried-food odors and a string of extra fees—bottled water charges, card surcharges and small upcharges—that can make the bill feel steep.

I really enjoy this restaurant; the food is delicious and fresh. They offer a great variety of wraps, burgers, and sandwiches, and their fries are tasty too. The service is usually quick, although it can slow down during busy times. It's definitely worth a visit!

We ordered a beer for $3.99, which was quite reasonable. As tourists, we wanted to try some traditional Mississippi cuisine and opted for a small plate. The hostess suggested the fried green tomatoes, and we ended up with three but were surprised to find that the edges were burnt. Our total bill came to $16.20. To say the least, Slick Rick's reputation is well-deserved! I wouldn't recommend going there—just skip it.

The food was okay, and the server was really nice, plus the atmosphere was pleasant. However, I was really put off by all the extra charges. I understand that restaurant owners are trying to recover from losses due to COVID, but it's frustrating to see so many fees. They charged $2.99 for bottled water, there was a 4% surcharge for using a credit card, and they were really stingy with the shrimp. I ended up paying $15.99 for a very basic shrimp club salad. After tipping the waitress 20% and adding the 4% card fee, my total came to $21.35, and I'm still feeling a bit hungry. Come on, seriously...

Where to begin... It was just me, my wife and our niece, I ordered the debris fries and wife ordered the crawfish nachos, both came out ice cold! I asked for mine to be reheated. Only one server for the entire upstairs. Wife asked for a glass of water and was given a $3 bottle of water. Our To Go order of crab cakes was forgotten and when they finally came they were paper thin and burnt (2 for $15!! . And of course there was an up charge for paying with a debit card and I think they included the tip!! So, for just 3 of us, 2 of which just ordered apps and a couple beers, the total was over $100 for cold food. Obviously we will never darken their doorstep again. Avoid this place like the plague!!!

Food is good but not justified by all the little up charges. As others have said 4% for cards (who pays cash anymore) three bucks for water. The tea we ordered was absolutely gone bad. No kids menus here and they were going to up charge me five dollars to share with the youngest. No more food for that (I asked) just five dollars cuz they can. Order was wrong wife got fries instead of chips the fries btw are not great they 're not even just ok tbh. The waffle was good the chicken needs some work. The Philly cheese steak was also good but others places have better food without up charges also. We asked for one tiny cup of ranch for the chips and they charged us 50 cents. Really ? Service was ok the wrong order aside. Obviously no one is taste testing last weeks tea before they serve it. The food is good but for the price I think we can do better the next time we eat out. I 'd skip this one for the money!
