While on our way to Mount Gambier, we decided to stop for lunch at the Black Smith Café located in a shopping center. The cafe was bustling with activity and offered a wide variety of menu options. I opted for the Texan burger, while my wife chose the chicken salad. The homemade lemon cordial was a refreshing treat on a hot day.
I stopped a quick lunch here and it was fast. I ordered the suppenspecial and it came before I even had a chance to get my phone out and check my tracking. the suppe was hot and thick and full of taste and was served with a super fresh broth roll. not complaining here.
We visited this cafe on Saturday, May 11th, 2019, based on good reviews from locals as we were visiting from out of town. However, we were extremely disappointed. There was a long wait for our coffee and food, and the biggest issue we encountered was the fact that other customers had their dog on the table with them in the food court area. My son was scared and bothered by the dog, and it was not appropriate for an animal to be in a dining area like that.
I come here for lunch every Thursday and the staff is always accommodating to my limited time. They are quick and efficient, making it worth the money.
Had lunch here with family based on a local recommendation. Located in Kincraig Plaza. Sat at a table for five near the entrance to the cafe which was wheel chair accessible. Had various dishes including quiche salad $9.50), fish chips $9.90) and the...pie of the week $13). Ordered at the counter and the food arrived at our table in reasonable time. We all enjoyed our meals and the coffee hit the spot!
