100% recommend. The service, ambiance, food, scenery, and options were excellent. Betty Claudia were wonderful in making our experience a memorable one. We did the lunch and Grgich Hills tasting and it was great. I got the chicken, my husband the salmon. When I discovered that one of the wines I ordered on board tasted off, Claudia immediately took care of replacing with a different suggestion. And with a smile. We will absolutely recommend and return again. What a special day! Even better that it was the 4th of July!.
What Reiko Gallo doesn't like about Napa Valley Wine Train:
Food was good but for the price def not worth it. We ran parallel to a highway the whole time and there wasn’t much commentary by the employees about what we were seeing I was on Wikipedia the whole time lol View all feedback.
A great way to see the scenery and take in wine country
Check in was a breeze and very organized. The train was lovely, with great staff that explained all the wines and lastly the food was great.
We did the Grgich Hills tasting with gourmet lunch. Shoutout to Dino, our exceptional server and tour guide. He tried to anticipate our every need! From bringing food and drink at just the right time, to offering to take our photo multiple times throughout the day. The train station itself is so interesting. Top tier gift shop with helpful and friendly staff. The interior of the train surprised me with its historic nature. The food was delicious. The guides/servers on the train gave us various interesting tidbits as we passed the different wineries on our way to Grgich Hills. The tasting at Grgich Hills was also a fantastic experience. While extreme heat prevented us from touring the vineyard, we had an informative (and much more comfortable) tour of the cellar itself. It was an experience I will never forget, and the perfect way to spend my first day in Napa!
We booked the Grgich wine tasting and lunch option. While the service from staff was excellent, the food and the single wine tasting left a lot to be desired, especially for the price $800/couple). We requested a vegan option when booking, but the options were minimal for our party. The train travels the same way there and back therefore you don’t get the opposite view on the return trip). I would choose a private car winery tour next time and visit 3-4 wineries. The train was beautiful and the service was the highlight of the trip.
I didn’t know what to expect but the experience was beautiful it was relaxing and enjoyable we did the dome lunch and we all love it food was great waitress was beyond professional and polite he did a great job . Ride has beautiful views of vineyards.
