If I could give six stars, that's probably the only place I'd forgive. Yeah, they're busy. Yes, patience is absolutely necessary. Yes, there are currently order limits. No one from above will get a little bit if you cost a morning bunk. Trust and believe. Life confirmed. View all feedback.
What George Pelz doesn't like about Wicked Island Bakery:
Good baked goods if you can find any in the shop. The shelves are always bare unless you get there very early. Even then the best pastries are alway sold out and they can never tell when they will be available. View all feedback.
My family traveled to Nantucket Island for the first time to celebrate a spectacular wedding. Little did I know a small bakery would become one of my lasting memories. Wicked Island Bakery reviews are inadequately describing the fabulous baked goods. Maybe the islanders wish to keep this their little secret. Based on the lines of construction workers, residents and families…..enough people have found this gem. Each morning I traveled out for a bun or scone. Visiting different little places that described themselves as a bakery. They were primarily serving breakfast and making a donut or muffin. Then I found WIB…..this ain’t no breakfast joint. This is a bakery that focuses on breakfast items…..if you are lucky you will arrive while the Morning Buns come out of the oven. They are Devine. Buy six if you can….if a wait is required relax and grab a coffee and blueberry/lemon scone. That’s what I did and during that 45 minute wait I observed the customers. They were buying breakfast sandwiches…..mushroom and brie pastries…..and asking about the next batch of Ham Cheese Croissants. After arriving home with my box of 6 hot morning buns my family went berserk over these delicious crisp but at the same time soft sweet rolls. The next morning I arrived at 6am and waited for WIB to open. This time I expanded my purchase using Intel from the prior visit. 3 MB’s, 3 Ham Cheese Croissants and a Hangover Breakfast Sandwich. Once again my family’s reaction to the items were priceless. The next morning we flew back to Washington DC. We had attended one of the most beautifully and fun weddings EVER and spent a week on this charming island. My only regret is not finding Wicked Island Bakery earlier. I’LL BE BACK!
Great doughnut, breakfast sandwiches, coffee. Definitely get Breakfast Bun or Morning Bun, it's just great.
Great morning buns, sailor knots and ham/cheese croissants. As noted by owner and reviewers, hit and miss when they are available as made from scratch and limited baking facilities. Went 5 times during our week and only able to get what we wanted once.5 stars for great baked goods3 stars for availability just the reality
Yummy cookies that are a reasonable size and price. (i.e. not bigger than your head).
Went for the morning buns (of course) and was not disappointed at all! Be sure to get there on the earlier side as I went one morning in the off season around 10:30 and they were already sold out (of a lot of things ... not just the morning buns). Prices are a little steep but in line with other prices on the island.
