Contribute FeedbackMelange is a cozy bistro that offers a variety of vegan options amidst a pleasant ambiance and a selection of cocktails and wines. Despite the charming setting and attentive service, several dishes fell short in flavor. The mushroom cakes and pesto panini disappointed, both lacking depth and richness, while the ramen also left much to be desired. Though the mushroom chickpea burger had good texture, its presentation didn't justify the steep price, especially with additional charges for sides. While Melange has potential, it must elevate its culinary offerings to match its inviting atmosphere.
There weren't many options available, but there were enough for lunch to be enjoyable. We decided to try the mushroom cakes, which unfortunately lacked any flavor. They were a vegetarian version of crab cakes, but didn't quite hit the mark. Next, we ordered the pesto panini, which tasted more like bland pasta. The dish looked nice, but it seemed like the noodles were swimming in oil and water, likely not properly drained. Overall, the dish lacked depth in taste, from the broth to the tofu.
This lovely bistro-style restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, with a focus on delicious vegan options. The owner is diligent in working with the local health authority to ensure compliance with current COVID-19 safety measures, providing a safe and welcoming environment for guests. The attentive staff made us feel cared for during our visit. Reviewed on June 18, 2020.
Melange is a cozy restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and a nice selection of cocktails, wines, and beers. The vegan options on the menu include simple appetizers like fries, olives, and edamame, as well as main dishes like a mushroom chickpea burger (available vegan), mushroom tagliatelle pasta, and eggplant rice bowl. I opted for the burger without the egg, which had good texture but was a bit crumbly. It was served with fries and salad, but each side dish cost an additional $3, making the total cost of $23 for a mediocre burger seem a bit pricey.
There were limited options available for lunch at this restaurant, but enough to potentially make a satisfying meal. We decided to try the mushroom cakes, which unfortunately lacked any flavor. They were meant to be a vegan version of crabcakes, but fell short in taste. The pesto Panini we ordered also disappointed, as it tasted like a plate of bland pasta. Despite its attractive presentation, the dish resembled a bowl of cereal due to the excessive amount of oil and water, suggesting that the pasta may not have been strained properly. The Ramen also failed to impress, as it lacked depth in flavor from the broth to the tofu and vegetables.
