What Condu doesn't like about Manchu WOK:
While staying in Waikiki on a winter holiday, I discovered Panda Express at the RHSC. I loved their fresh, healthy flavorful Chinese food. I was shopping at Woodgrove Shopping Center, Nanaimo saw that their food court had a Chinese restaurant called the Manchu wok. As I was craving Chinese food, I decided to give it a try. A complete ripoff location for food court Chinese food4 shrimps with a few bits of broccoli and cabbageNot an experience that I need to try again.
Other than friendly service, the food is your typical all day warmed food. I don't believe anything was prepared here, just heat and serve. All the food did for me was to 'fill the hole'. We just shared the 2 entree plate - noodles with stir fry veggies, nothing really to report here.
I thought I'd try Manchu again after along hiatus. Food is still the same, total garbage. I believe they use unsold product from the day before, cold wilted broccoli, in the hot veggies. Get real people!

While staying in Waikiki on a winter holiday, I discovered Panda Express at the RHSC. I loved their fresh, healthy & flavorful Chinese food. I was shopping at Woodgrove Shopping Center, Nanaimo & saw that their food court had a Chinese restaurant called the Manchu wok. As I was craving Chinese food, I decided to give it a try. I ordered the fried noodles & the orange chicken. The noodles were dry & tasteless and greasy at the same time. Quite a feat! I could not taste any chicken in the dry, chewy deep-fried, lumps of dough. The sauce was over-the-top sweet with no citrus flavor, no oranges, & very salty. After a couple of bites, I discarded my meal in the garbage. Never, again! I could have had a fresh, healthy & tasty meal at Opa, of Greece or Umi Sushi at the same food court.
