Mambo Gourmet Pizza - Nanaimo

It was quite the sensory experience! Overall, I had a fantastic time. I ordered online and received a text with my pick-up time, as well as a notification when my pizza was ready. The whole journey home was delightful. I took a bite of the "pickle boy" pizza and discovered my new favorite pizzeria. I highly recommend trying Mambo Pizza. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasted like it was made with quality ingredients, from the dough to the cheese. Fantastic pizza and one of the highlights of my trip. I loved it so much that I simply had to go back on the last day to get some pizza before boarding the ferry back to Vancouver. They make the pizza fresh upon order (takes around 30 mins so that it is piping hot right out of the pizza oven. Service is decent and the portion is reasonable for the price. They have lots of vegan options (and they use violife cheese! and their pizzas are highly customisable. I got a custom pizza and it was amazing (5/5 . I love their barbecue base (they are very generous with the sauce which was the perfect amount of smoky and tangy and the vegan cheese is super melty as well. The amount of toppings is pretty generous (I got mushroom, broccoli and spinach and the crust is fluffy. I'm usually not a fan of thick crust pizza (I prefer thin but this one was super good. The spicy marinara I got as a side was a bit too spicy for me personally though. If you have a low spice tolerance I'd suggest getting something else. Other than that I have no complaints and I would definitely recommend coming here if you're ever in Nanaimo.

This restaurant came highly recommended by a few friends and it's become our go-to pizza place. The food is excellent and the customer service is equally so. After an error with our delivery earlier today, they were more than willing to make it right and we were able to get fresh pies sent to us within the hour. Stellar customer service! I have nothing but great things to say about this location, its staff, and of course the pizzas, which come fully loaded. Whether you're in the area for a little while or a long time, consider giving this place a try!

Incredible experience! They offer a wide range of gluten-free and vegan options. As someone with celiac disease, I was relieved to see that they take proper precautions with their gluten-free pizzas. They have a separate area for preparation, use specific utensils, and even have a dedicated spot in the pizza oven. This attention to detail made me feel safe trying it. The pizza was delicious and packed with flavor! I had the pesto popeye, which was amazing, while my companions ordered the donair pizza. They enjoyed it too but mentioned it was a bit less flavorful. Just a note: currently, due to COVID-19, there are no indoor or outdoor seating options; it's only takeout.

I highly recommend this place! Definitely opt for the extra-large pizza (18 inches), as you can choose four different flavors. It's a fantastic way to try various combinations, and at under $30, it’s a great value. You'll definitely eat a lot! The pizza itself was delicious, loaded with quality toppings, and perfectly made. I was also impressed by their customer service. Since I have a nut allergy and pesto can be an issue, I ordered online, and they sent me a personal message confirming that their pesto contains no nuts.
