Was recommended to visit this restaurant /pub. We feared it will not be suitable with our young children but it was the opposite. The pub is on the lower level and the restaurant and bar was on the main level. Food was very good and maintained high standards for both our visits for dinner time. Yes, we went back on the second night with the request from the children. Kid's menu was good with many choices even for fus... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Longwood Brew Pub & Restaurant:
Went for lunch, nice place decor quite common, limited menu, but this is one of those places that put mayo on burgers, disgusting, burgers don't need mayo. Ordered, then I should have taken a nap before my food came. Don't get the waitress with the too obvious fake friendly voice and too long hair. Should have left, but stayed for week fries and slighty warm food. No response neccesary, 99.99% sure won't go back, 100... View all feedback.
I really enjoyed stopping it to this pub for a beverage on a hot day! The ambiance was great! I had a peach cider, even though this is a brew house! I didn't have a bite, however, I did chat with a couple that had a curry bowl and they said it was super yummy!
With a few hours left before heading back to the mainland from Victoria, we headed up to Nanaimo to visit our long time friends and opted for the Longwood Brew Pub for dinner to spend a few hours and catch up. M and D recommended the fish and chips, either the halibut or the cod. So we tried both and weren't disappointed. There's nothing better than fish and chips at a local pub.The menu was quite varied and extensive and there were many other enticing choices we could have chosen. Our server, Madison, a delightful young lady was friendly and accommodating. She made helpful suggestions and made us feel welcome and well looked after. We enjoyed local beer on tap, some nice desserts, and coffee to complete our selections. The design and furnishings of the restaurant was upscale, modern looking and added to the comfortable ambiance. The Longwood Brew Pub is a place we would recommend when visiting Nanaimo.

We happened upon this gem when looking for a good meal that wasn't fast food or too formal. The place was busy, but service was fast and very attentive. We got the last 2 seats at a high table with stools but they were comfortable at least! Both of our meals were excellent - a Brewmaster salad that included shrimp, chicken, and smoked salmon. This was very tasty, fresh and substantial (I was hungry!). My husband had a different salad that you could add salmon to, but I can't remember the name of it and it isn't on the website anymore. The beer was also excellent - lots of choices. Anyway, we highly recommend this pub/restaurant.
Good place to have lunch & glass on their own beer. There seafood soup is great as well as sandwiches or salad. Price is good & the service was quick & server very good.
