We loved the Hatteras clam chowder and the down home atmosphere. A Nags Head institution
Year in and year out, Sam Omie's is always a treat. Parking: There is parking at the public park next door. As far as I know it's ok to park there.
We had high hopes for this restaurant but we were sadly mistaken. The food is mediocre at best. Our waitress was nice but seemed to be avoiding our table even after multiple attempts to get her attention. We had not even been there barely an hour when the hostess walked up to our table asking if we needed our checks. We had already checked out but I was still drinking my drink. She rudely told us that someone else had been waiting a long time for the table insinuating we needed to leave. How rude of an establishment to rush you out of somewhere after just taking your money like someone else is more important?? Extremely disrespectful and rude. No excuse for the behavior. Do not give this place your time or business because it isn’t worth it. Seems like they think some peoples money is greener than yours. Also I never make reviews but I was so upset by this encounter I needed to make it known to others.
Perfect lunch in a fantastic setting! Great service and reasonably priced..... the food is always amazing!
You need to go back to your old brand of fried vegetables the new ones are not good, also the chopped collards were bad, got the onion rings because they had always been very good came out cold and soggy. This is the first time in over fourty years eating here that I was disappointed in my food. Went back last week had the tuna salad plate it was very good but the ranch dressing now is bad very thin and no taste. The old ranch dressing was very good. Hope you go back to your old supplier for the fried vegetables and ranch dressing. Tried the fried veggies again still bad, no zucchini now yellow squash and the ranch dressing still thin. Looks like they aren't as busy as normal now. Don't change what has worked for so many years.
