when they go to niigata, they try this place! it is very accessible; few steps from the niigata station. her menu is on point! we ordered the cheesus burger, signature kartoffel and pub classic chips. all we got was bomb af. pictures def do not justice. the restaurant has a nice cool atmosphere, the owners were amazing, and the Japanese workers also spoke very good English. what an incredible experience! I took my friend here for birthday and we were not disappointed. the burgers were great and also the company. everyone was super nice and friendly. looking for a new place with good food and great wine definitiw past.
This restaurant is a fantastic spot that welcomes foreigners with open arms. Language is not a barrier here, as both English and Japanese speakers will feel right at home. The food is not only delicious, but prepared by skilled chefs in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner, drinks with friends, or dining solo, The Alchemist is sure to impress.
I had a fantastic meal with incredible service, making for a great night. My partner loved the double bacon and cheeseburger, saying it was one of the best he's ever had. The mac and cheese was delicious, and the mushrooms and potatoes were flavorful. But the desserts stole the show, with the warm peanut butter brownie and sticky date pudding being truly exceptional. The warm, friendly, and inviting environment was the cherry on top. I look forward to seeing the young owners, Josh and Ai, again, and maybe even a Tokyo branch in the future!
I tried kangaroo for the first time and it was amazing. We didn't opt for the set courses, instead ordered a variety of dishes a la carte. The curry and brisket are must-tries. Reservations were easy to make on Facebook, even when the restaurant was closed. They even prepared some special desserts for a birthday celebration. The wine and beer selection was good. If you want something extra, ask about off-menu options. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
