We make the drive from our house in Volcano to enjoy the great comfort food served at Hana Hou. Sundays they open for breakfast and my Garden Omelet and home fries were perfect. My wife had the Corned Beef Hash which she also enjoyed. The homemade toast with lilikoi jelly yum! The owners is cooking and daughter is serving. The restaurant is super clean. Full bar... What Frank Röthemeier doesn't like about Hana Hou:
It's not a restaurant, it's more of a food truck, no service, no water to eat. Prices for three people at $80 The sate was none. The peanut butter was missing! The chicken meat was riddled with bones. The Loco Moco was the worst thing I've eaten in Hawaii so far Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 View all feedback.
Good food and chill vibe. Enjoyed burgers and pizza with a POG drink. So many desserts to choose from so try to save room. Staff was kind and attentive. Recommend stopping in when you're in the area.
Came in on Tuesday, was a Mexican special day. I had a great burrito and a fab lilikoi lemonade. They also have excellent desert options.
We shared two plates with my husband and kids. We had a very nice time. Don’t forget to try the dessert. It was delicious. We got our desserts to go. This place will be in our memories forever.
Good food. Large portions. Pizza is only so-so. There are better options. Chicken and pork were good. A bit overpriced but to be expected considering the location. Service is a bit slow but it’s a small operation so also to be expected. Lower rating is because they charge a 3.5% fee for credit cards and an automatic 20% tip on parties of 5 or more. Tipping should be at the discretion of the patron not demanded by the business. Because of these practices we will not return. Unfortunate, because we stay on this part of the island often.
Great tasting food like smash burger and stuffed papaya salad and friendly service at the Southern most restaurant in the US. Across the road from Punalu'u Bakery, also worth a visit
